Calm with depth
Ceramic time is not framed as a problem to fix, but as part of what makes the practice richer and more transformative.

MUD Escola de Cerâmica
About
Technical teaching and a welcoming studio for intentional making.
MUD began during the 2020 pandemic when people started asking for classes. The demand revealed more than curiosity—it pointed to a real need for creativity and reconnection.
That is how the studio was born: not only as a place to learn technique, but as a space for presence, study, and exchange.

Why MUD
Studio values
Learning ceramics at MUD also means learning to wait: dry, fire, observe, and return to the piece.

Philosophy
MUD sees ceramics as art, craft, and investigation. The studio values exchange, listening, and autonomy, welcoming beginners with warmth and attention.
Ceramic time is not framed as a problem to fix, but as part of what makes the practice richer and more transformative.
Strong foundations are there to open personal paths, not to make everyone create the same way.
Exhibitions
MUD’s exhibitions extend the studio journey beyond the classroom and create a meeting point between research, authorship, and city life.
They gather processes developed throughout the year and show how technical learning becomes personal language and public presence.

A group show centered on relationships between emptiness, structure, and material presence within the work developed at the studio.

Use MUD Walk-ins for this week's times, kids classes, and workshops, or contact the team about monthly classes, wheel practice, and groups.
Even as the school grows, MUD wants to preserve personal care, affection, and the feeling of a living atelier.

An edition bringing together works around crossings, territories, and shared repertoires between matter, memory, and displacement.
